Oaklands Park

Get to know us

Oaklands Park is a 150-acre rural community situated near Newnham On Severn on the edge of the Forest of Dean.

We offer opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and other support needs. They live and work within a beautiful location, where their contributions to the life of our community are valued.

Our 150-acre estate offers a livestock farm, 8-acre market garden, wood workshop and a weavery. We have animals and grow and sell vegetables, fruit, flowers and firewood to the local community and other outlets. We follow biodynamic principals to produce quality food without chemicals and artificial fertilisers.

The Victorian mansion house is home to our library, games room, meeting room, hall and coffee bar. We also host many local businesses on site including a florist, cider maker, and the Dean Forest Food Hub.

We have a shared Workshop set-up with The Grange.

Lydney Community Support

In 2014, Oaklands Park took on the management and support of the old Taurus Crafts support services. The new name for these services is Lydney Community Support. This managed accommodation in Lydney includes community houses, townhouses and purpose built flats for those with greater independence. Support is always close at hand. Most of our housing is close to Lydney town centre. Many of the people we support work and volunteer at Camphill Village Trust’s Taurus Crafts Visitor Centre, close by.
