In partnership with the Assessment & Independence Team from Dudley MBC, CVT Shared Lives hosted their first Community Breakfast Club of the year at Wollescote Hall this week, with a focus on older people.
On a very cold morning, over 25 people attended the meeting to share ideas about social care and promote the services/projects they are currently involved with across Stourbridge.
Alison Harris, Assistant Team Manager from the from the Independent Living Team, who arranged the event, said
‘The Breakfast has been a great success, not only has the council had opportunity to promote how our service supports older people in the community, but there was a lot of networking, and we now know of new projects we can sign post people to.’ Various other organisations in attendance were Care UK, Job Centre Plus, Riverside House, Dementia Friends, Citizens Advice Bureau, MacMillan, Camphill Village Trust, Public Health, Utility Aid and Lifestyle Fitness.
The next Community Breakfast Club will be hosted sometime in the Spring and given its success, there are suggestions to roll the meetings out across the Borough, so as to involve a lot more communities.
