Harriet is a resident at Grange Village and has been volunteering in the Gift Shop at Taurus Crafts since March this year.
The Gift Shop is home to a range of distinctive gifts which include arts, crafts, kitchen, homewares and decorative items which have been made in the workshops at many of our Camphill Village Trust Communities.
Harriet explains; “I enjoy working in the Gift Shop carrying out daily tasks. My favourite part about working in the Gift Shop is assisting customers and giving out the free trials. I especially like working as part of a team”
Harriet has been involved in a range of tasks including merchandising, steaming garments for the home and fashion section and making sure the products are neatly displayed. Harriet has also developed many new skills along the way including customer interaction, using the till, pricing stock as well as working alongside the team at Taurus Crafts.
“Working with Harriet is a real pleasure and she brings a great positive attitude to the Gift Shop. She has learned many new skills during her time here and hopefully, she will use these transferable skills in her day to day life.” Debbie Lawton Gift Shop & Enterprise Manager.
