Shaun Webster MBE speaks to Camphill Village Trust

‘People with learning disabilities can achieve great things. I came from nowhere with no power and no self-respect. I didn’t know about my human rights. My message is this: never stop believing in yourself, don’t let other people tell you that you can’t do it. If you’ve got something you want to do, then do it.’

Shaun Webster MBE has a learning disability; he’s an author and a campaigner for the rights of disabled people. He joined over fifty Camphill Village Trust community members and staff for a very special Zoom session on Thursday afternoon where he explored subjects such as living indepently, sexuality, employment, decision making and relationships.

Speaking after the session, Shaun said ‘I feel very proud of myself because I spoke about my experience of living with learning disabilities’.
