Botton Next Generation
For 70 years, Botton has been more than just a place to live or work - it’s been a vibrant, inclusive community where people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health support needs can truly thrive.
Now, it’s time to shape the next chapter and keep the strong connection to our past.
Botton is built on a proud heritage of community, sustainability, and purpose. It’s shaped by the love of those who live and work here, and by the values we all hold dear. But to ensure Botton continues to flourish for generations to come, we need to reimagine what the village can be together.
We’re looking at four key areas that will shape Botton’s future
- Our People: Living well together
Supporting an ageing population while welcoming new people to keep the village vibrant - Our Income: Thriving economy
Building economic resilience through sustainable social enterprise, tourism, and partnerships - Our Land and Environment: Natural resources
Making the most of our resources while respecting the environment and community needs. Promoting regenerative land use and sustainable farming practices - Our Infrastructure: Foundations for the future
Improving accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability (from renewable energy to waste management)
What happens next?
We are in phase one of the project, which is about developing a clear vision and long term plan for Botton. We are bringing together everyone’s ideas and considering all opportunities. Phase two will focus on how we turn the agreed vision into a reality.
We warmly welcome feedback and ideas from anyone who is interested in Botton’s future - please email BottonNG@cvt.org.uk.
