Our very first Camphill Village Trust community, Botton Village, is now home to a beautifully refurbished Old Store—a much-loved space where community activities take place.
The transformation took just two weeks and the results are fantastic! The building looks brilliant and is now ready to be enjoyed once again by the people we support and the wider Botton Village community.
The project was made possible by Bell Group, who kindly donated their time, materials, and expertise as part of their social value commitment. We’re so grateful for their support in making this important space more welcoming and accessible.
Even more inspiring was the involvement of Botton Village community members, who volunteered alongside the Bell Group team throughout the project. Everyone received a safety induction and PPE, enabling them to take part fully and safely.
Taking part in meaningful, hands-on projects like this supports people to feel empowered, valued, and connected. It brings to life the co-produced I-statements that guide everything we do at Camphill Village Trust:
“I want to be involved and connected with others.”
“I have skills and abilities. I may need support to get training, voluntary or paid work.”
“I want to be an active part of my community.”
This refurbishment is more than just a building project—it’s a celebration of what can be achieved when communities come together with purpose and pride.

At Camphill Village Trust, we’re committed to creating thriving communities where people with learning disabilities and autism are supported to live full, meaningful lives. And now, thanks to everyone involved, the Old Store is once again a space where that can happen.
