Croft Artwork Exhibition at Holyrood House

Croft Artwork Exhibition at Holyrood House

We were delighted to take part in a recent art exhibition at Holyrood House in Thirsk, where people we support in our Croft Community proudly showcased their artwork. The exhibition is a celebration of nature, creativity, and personal expression – with each piece reflecting how the seasons and natural world inspire our artists and the arts and crafts activities we run across our communities.

The artwork on display captures the beauty of the local landscape – from vibrant flowers and delicate leaf patterns to peaceful woodland scenes and glowing sunsets. It’s a powerful reflection of the changing seasons and the joy of connecting with nature through creativity.

As part of the event, Camphill Village Trust team member Becky led a ‘have a go’ pottery workshop in the newly opened art room at Holyrood House. Visitors were invited to experiment with ceramics, creating textures and patterns using natural materials like leaves and flowers. This hands-on experience gave people a taste of the nature-inspired creative activities we regularly offer through our Nature-based Therapies and Skills programme.

These supported activities offer so much more than a finished piece of art. They support adults with learning disabilities to build confidence, develop fine motor skills, improve concentration, and connect meaningfully with the world around them. Creativity becomes a tool for growth, wellbeing and inclusion. Discover our range of supported nature-based activities!

We’re incredibly proud to see our artists share their work with the wider community – and the exhibition is still open for visitors to enjoy. Prints and greetings cards featuring the artwork are also available to purchase, with proceeds supporting our creative programmes.

Come along and visit – and see the power of art, nature and community in action.
