A call for action ahead of the spending review
With the Government’s Spending Review just weeks away, Camphill Village Trust joins voices across the adult social care sector in calling for urgent and meaningful investment in care and support.
We are proud to support the joint statement led by the Local Government Association and partners across the sector. At its heart is a clear message: adult social care is not simply a service—it’s the foundation that enables people to live the lives they choose, in the places they call home, with purpose and connection.
For people who draw on care and support, for unpaid carers, and for the workforce who deliver this vital support every day, the current system is under immense strain. Long-term reform remains essential—but immediate, stabilising investment is needed now to protect those most at risk and ensure care and support can continue to make a positive difference in communities up and down the country.
As a charity rooted in community, co-production and inclusivity, we know that when adult social care is properly resourced, its impact reaches far beyond individuals. It strengthens families, supports local economies, and underpins a more compassionate society.
We urge the Government to recognise the true value of adult social care—not as a cost, but as an investment in people and potential.
