BBC Look North’s Amy Garcia visits Tadgh at our Croft Community

When community member, Tadgh, said he’d always wanted to meet a celebrity, we supported him to achieve his goal – inviting BBC Yorkshire’s much-loved Look North presenter, Amy Garcia, to our Croft Community.

Tadgh showed Amy around his community and our local nature-based therapy and skills workshops, interviewing the newsreader with some insightful questions of his own!

After the event, Tadgh shared his thoughts and feelings about Amy’s visit:

“I was really nervous. It was exciting. She asked me lots of questions about the Croft. It was great to meet a celebrity. Amy wants to come back and visit us on Apple day!”

During her visit, Amy shared that she was impressed by the Camphill Village Trust approach, saying afterwards that:

“It was a lovely afternoon, I was given such a warm welcome. It’s such an idyllic setting and I was so impressed by the activities on offer for the residents.”

A big thank you to Tadgh for making it all happen, and to Amy for joining us.

Reflecting on the visit, Fundraising Director, Paul Moore, shared:

“At Camphill Village Trust, the most meaningful moments often start with simply listening. Tadgh had a wish, Amy generously gave her time, and the result was a day of real joy – a reminder that life in our communities is shaped by people, possibilities, and experiences that are anything but ordinary. Thank you Amy for spending the afternoon with us, it’s one that our Croft Community won’t forget in a hurry!”
