Event

recruitment morning

Come and meet staff and some of the people that we support at our recruitment event from 9am till 12.30pm, where you can find out more about our current opportunities for paid and voluntary workers at our 3 Gloucestershire communities (Oaklands Park, Grange Village and Lydney Community Support ), set in great locations.

We have vacancies for full time, part time and Bank (casual) workers, as well as for volunteers, to work in our workshops and gardens, who can commit to 3+ hours a week.

No qualifications or previous experience are needed. You may have previous experience in care, just be starting work, or looking to do something different. What is important to us is that you share our values, have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You will be good communication skills and  have a positive and patient approach to supporting people with daily activities, and enjoy helping people learn and explore new things. You have a flexible approach and like work both as part a team as well as on your own.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference to people’s lives. As a support worker you will support people with differing needs with all aspects of their lives. Your day may be quite varied. You will help people with the practical aspects of their lives, such as helping them to shop, prepare meals, wash themselves, clean their home, understand their money and take their medication. You will enable the individuals you support to have an active social life, helping them to make friends and maintain friendships, and to access and enjoy leisure activities. You will be helping each person to live their life in a way that makes sense to them, to exercise independent choice and control, to learn new skills and to develop their independence.

Full induction and training are offered and we will support you to obtain the Care Certificate when you join us. We offer a competitive rate of pay, as well as overtime if you want it.

Our great benefits include 33 days holiday, an opportunity to ‘cash in’ 1 week’s leave a year, and an employee assistance scheme that is also available to your immediate family. Free on-site parking is available. Our support work roles do involve working shifts and there are sleep in shifts available.

If this job like the right opportunity for you, come to our recruitment event where tours and interviews will be available on the day to prospective candidates. Please bring ID for proof of right to work.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all sections of the community.

We look forward to seeing you there!
