Learn new skills
Taurus Crafts is a great place for people with learning disabilities to discover their own creativity, as well learn new skills and gain a new hobby.
Previous opportunities that we have offered are throwing a pot clay play, paint your own pottery and wreath making to name a few.
Recently we have run a greeting card competition where a variety of drawing techniques were used to create a range of inspired designs from lino printing, Rorschach inking & ink blowing. These were then taken into Photoshop where the artwork was manipulated and overlaid with typograph to create a range of designs for greetings cards.
We are currently developing the day opportunities programme and please get in touch with us to discuss the opportunities that will become available.
Wellbeing
Being creative is therapeutic and rewarding. The benefits of being creative are very rewarding as it allows us to relax and unwind by taking the time to use our hands, minds, and energy, which in turns reduces our stress levels and over time improves our quality of life.
Connections
Creativity is not just about making or painting its also about connections both artistic and social. Our creative day opportunities allow nurtures the development of new artistic expression and the creation of friendships through a shared interest or two.
Expression
There is no right or wrong answer when creating artwork or expressing our selves. Learns are will try a range of creative medium and be allowed to take a few creative risks while discovering their artistic voice.
