Care and Support Manager

About the role

We have a NEW AND EXCITING opportunity for the role of Care & Support Manager to join our team to work alongside our existing Care & Support Manager and make a positive difference to people’s lives.

As a Care & Support Manager you will empower the people we support to lead more connected fulfilled lives and make informed life choices.  You will organise and deliver support and care to tenants, (and other people using our services),  meeting and exceeding CQC KLOE standards, to support tenants to fulfil their potential for independence, choice, inclusion and control.

Camphill Village Trust is an award-winning national charity supporting people with learning and other disabilities. We provide housing, care, support and day opportunities to people with learning and other difficulties. Oaklands Park, Lydney Community support and Grange Village Communities are supported living services registered to deliver domiciliary care with CQC, our last report in June this year achieved a Good in all areas. The communities are located within 15 minutes drive from each other in beautiful semi-rural locations in Newnham and Lydney, Gloucestershire. The communities consist of 24 houses, on 208 acres of land, with social farms and gardens, pottery, café’s, woodwork, bakery, crafts and a weavery. We also provide support as part of our Lydney Community Services in Lydney. The role will cover either Oaklands Park or Grange Village and will work closely with the current Care and Support Manager.  You will have previous experience as a  registered manager with CQC, and working with people with learning disabilities within a supported living environment.

What we provide

We provide a full induction and free training.  We will support you to obtain further professional qualifications later if you want to do so.

Contractual salary based on 37.5 hours per week is up to £33,000 per annum subject to qualifications and experience and will include participation in out of hours duty management.

What we need from you

Good general education (evidence of numeracy and literacy). Level 5 NVQ in care or equivalent qualification or higher is highly desirable. At least three years of previous experience of working within a social care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities. At least one year at a supervisory level with experience of managing teams. You will have previous experience as a  registered manager with CQC, and working with people with learning disabilities within a supported living environment.

What is also important to us is that you share our values, have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.  You will be good at both listening to and talking with people.  You will have a positive and patient approach to supporting people with daily activities and enjoy helping people learn and explore new things.  You have a flexible approach and like to work both as part of a team as well as on your own.

A full manual driving licence will be beneficial, which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be driving the charity’s vehicles.
