Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for a confident and composed, competent and enthusiastic person to be a Team Leader.  The people we support have various needs and our aim is to work as a team to enable them to reach their full potential and have a fulfilled life, whilst ensuring that they remain safe and happy.  You must be able to lead by example, manage the team to achieve this and have their full respect.

There is a requirement that we work to meet the expectations of Camphill Village Trust and to meet the obligations as contracted by the local authority.  As a Team Le,ader you will be responsible for ensuring that this standard is maintained and promoted within your team and throughout the whole community.

You will form part of a strong, supportive Team Leader group and attend weekly managerial meetings with the Registered Manager and Care & Support Manager, who will also be your supervisors.  We are looking for someone who is a leader, yet approachable and caring, putting the needs of the Community Members first and ensuring that the whole team work together towards this purpose.

You will need to be able to liaise with health and social care professionals and family members, attend reviews, CPAs and safeguarding meetings. You will also represent Larchfield and Camphill Village Trust positively within the wider community.  Experience in a previous supervisory role would be an advantage.

We support people to be safe, healthy, happy and to be active citizens living a life of opportunity.

Larchfield Community provides supported living, learning and working opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, autism, various complex needs and challenging behaviour.  We also provide varied work opportunities including the farm and gardens, bakery, café, shop and craft workshops. This enables the people we support to live lives which are socially connected and full of meaning and purpose.  The successful candidate will be managing one of our supported living houses or flats.

What we provide

We provide a full induction and free training.  We will support you to obtain training in Team Leader skills such as supervision, leadership and team building.

Our hourly rate of pay is £10.56, and we currently pay £62.64 a night for a sleep in.  Additional hours are often available.  Contractual salary is £20,592, but typical annual earnings with 1 sleep in a week are £23,850.

What we need from you

  • Minimum (achieved or working towards) NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience in managing rotas, leading shifts and supervising a team is desirable.
  • Hours are full time (37.5 hours), working Monday to Sunday as part of a rota system.
  • Shift patterns may include: early shifts, late shifts, long days, short shifts, weekends, sleep overs and/or waking nights.
